I bought this mini laptop because the school asked me 2 get a low powered laptop 4 my 7th grader. He only needed MS Word. This was a great choice because the size & weight was easy 2 carry. There is no moving parts so I do not have 2 worry about the laptop bouncing around in his back pack (My son tends 2 run). The price was affordable [...]. The size did not take up the whole student desk & the power cord was very long (nice). Basically he only needed the power cord 4 the afternoon class because the battery was sufficient 4 the morning class. I especially liked having Open Office pre-installed. It was compatible with MS Word. The laptop is also pre-installed with some games & a dictionary. It also has a math tutorial which came in handy 4 me when I had 2 refresh my knowledge on fractions (what a relief). This machine powers up fast & the 16G memory is plenty 4 my son.

This Laptop is the best! If you want a portable computer then this is the laptop 2 get. It is small & light weight! I can take it everywhere I go. I love it! Only thing is I had 2 get a friend 2 load XP on it since it came with Linux but not that XP is on it I can do anything! I do wish it had 1 PCMCIA slot but what can you do:)

I haven't received mine yet. It comes 2 me next week as I expect & that is fine 4 me. My delivery time is greater because of where I live.

One reviewer mentioned that if you need IE 2 see some websites you are out of luck. Well, not really because you can get Crossover Office from Code Weavers & it will allow you 2 run Office & IE on Linux w/o a Windows license. I have it & it works great on my desktop systems. I see no reason why it wouldn't work on the Eee 900 with Linux.

Can't wait 2 get mine. I do financial planning & am creating a website & move about a lot doing consulting & taking notes. This will be perfect. I went 2 a local store before buying so I know what I am getting. I have a big MacBook Pro as my main work horse. It is fantastic but heavy 2 bring 2 my client meetings when I don't have 2 do major work. The Eee 900 will be a great benefit.

This laptop is one of the best new technologies out in the market right now. With the display of about 8.9'' & approximately about 3.0 pounds, it is perfect 4 a student 2 carry along 2 class 2 take notes or can be used 4 searching the net with wireless capabilities. Even though, understandably it comes without DVD/CD-rom drive, it featured USB capable ports 4 memories storing devices. With enough power 2 run Microsoft windows XP, it is perfect 4 office works & convenient 4 group meetings. With 6 cell batteries, it could lasts up 2 7 hours 4 extended working times & entertainments. It has options including 1.3 mp webcam that would be ideal 4 long distance conversation & built in microphone 4 that same purpose. I strongly recommend this as a first laptop/PC & since it is powerful enough 2 handles heavy works, it can also be use as tools 4 students & office works. This is the new technology & the new generation of personal computer.

This computer would not connect 2 the internet 4 very long. It also arrived with some of the keys popped up & we were told we had 2 contact the company 2 fix this. It made it look very cheap. This item was returned.
